We Wrote the Book!

We are proud to announce the publication of Understanding Enterprise SOA
by Eric Pulier, Chairman of SOA Software

Understanding Enterprise SOA uses a vehicle to carry its story: an example insurance company designed to combine challenging business management situations that have occurred separately in real life. The book shows how a well-planned and executed Service-Oriented Architecture provides cost savings and solutions.

“Writing this book has given me an opportunity to express in an integrated way my views on how to earn a return on investment with SOA,” said author Eric Pulier.  “Doing an SOA right requires a deep understanding of both business and technology issues.  I felt that a book would be the most effective way to communicate the entire range of issues involved.”

Written for business managers and other non-technologists, as well as technologists who want the big picture, the book lays out the technological underpinnings of Web services and SOA in a business context.  It reveals the business issues of such topics as SOA security, management, utility computing, and business process management.

Reviews

“This book should prove essential for any business professional evaluating or managing an SOA solution,” says Jason Bloomberg, Senior Analyst at Zapthink. “Pulier’s extensive knowledge and deep understanding of both business and technology make the book a compelling read on a complex subject.”

“If you want to make sense of all of the SOA fuss and how it fits in with the web services you’re crafting then this is definitely a good place to start.”
